Chickens

Does this make us farmers? Shane has always wanted to raise chickens. To have eggs come from our own backyard. I finally gave in. They were too cute to say no.

This was one of the chickens they had outside the country store. They didn't have her in stock, so I'm waiting. I love her "boots"!

Shane just getting an idea of how he's going to build a coop for our new chicks.

I love the barn look of this coop.

Meet the newest members of our family:
Shannon (Shane's- you say it with an Irish accent)
Bridget (Lex's)
And, the white one is Chloe (Isabel's- Shane told her no at first because it's "ugly" but Isabel cried and so she got it. Really, if he tells her to pick one, he can't tell her no. Silly dad.)

How can I tell him no? Just look at that happy face!

He says one day we will have to eat the chickens after they stop laying eggs. I think there's a rule that says if you name your chickens, they are technically pets and you can't eat your pets. We shall have to wait and see.

About Me

My photo
Shane and I met my senior year of high school in 1996 and were married in 2000. It's just crazy to think we've known each other for more than a decade and still learn new things about each other. We both graduated from the University of Utah. I have a degree in Finance and Shane has a degree in Biology. We are both enjoying jobs in our respective fields. Our favorite thing to do is travel. Before we started a family, we spent two weeks in Europe touring Italy, Germany, Switzerland, and France. We want to see the world and hopefully take our children along with us when they are older. Our children are our life. Alexander "Lex" is our little man at 7 years old. He loves to try lots of new things. He's currently enrolled in soccer, tumbling & boys' hip hop. Isabel (or Bel as Shane likes to call her) is 3 1/2 years old. She is also enrolled in tumbling & dance. All in all, life is wonderful and we couldn't be happier.
