Busy, Busy, Busy!

The time just flew by these last few days. My mom & my sisters and I got together Christmas Eve for our annual tea at Grand America, then we all got together for a Christmas Eve celebration, and then again for Christmas dinner and then once again Friday to celebrate Melissa's 30th birthday. I loved it all. Getting together with 7 girls is all talk and laughter as you can imagine. Love it, love it, love it.

All the nieces including our newest addition Alanna. Welcome to the family Ian & Alanna!

Christmas gifts from Grandpa & Grandma in Wyoming. THANK YOU!

The Crizaldo sisters... need I say more???

And one with my wonderful dad. Many ask how he did it. Easy, we're all angels (wink)!

It's That Time of Year!

Lex & Isabel waiting to leave to see Santa. (This is Isabel's expression after she's had enough of picture-taking.)

Lex has known for a while now exactly what he wanted to ask Santa for Christmas. He definitely knows the drill. Isabel was asked what she would like and she just said "lots". I'm not sure she really knew what she was saying, but it was funny. You can see she was still a bit timid of Santa this year, but at least she's not crying and trying to run away... just being cautious as you can tell by the look on her face.

Memory Grove

My sisters and I had Tina Miera (http://www.tinamiera.com/) do a photo shoot of the nieces and nephews again. She last took group photos of them when Isabel was about 9 months old. She's 28 months old now, so it's been about 2 years. She loved seeing how much the kids have grown.

These pictures aren't the ones she took, but are the ones Shane took while she was busy with the other kids. If you love Isabel's dress, you have to go to Tiara Boutique in Sugarhouse (just across the street from the post office). She made this dress for me, well Isabel, and I was just so happy with how it turned out. There are also other amazing outfits in there for boys and girls. You have to check it out.

Happy Birthday Lex!

My little boy is growing up. Lex turned 6 on Sunday and we celebrated with a breakfast dinner with Shane's family on Saturday; pancakes, hashbrowns, eggs, sausage, bacon, muffins... the works!! He will have a birthday party with his school friends on Saturday, so I'll post more birthday pics after that! Should be fun, too!

Modern Day Pyramid

We thought we'd have some fun with the kids on this beautiful afternoon last weekend and had the kids make a human pyramid. Watch the progress:

1) Planning

2) Construction

3) Demolition

And of course, we had to try it ourselves!

Horse racing to finish it off!

It's neck & neck with Leah in the lead by a toothless smile!!

Family Reunion 2008

Grandpa Jorgensen always teases that he'll make my kids hunters since I always say they won't be. Well, Lex loves to go antelope hunting every year now. Isabel is getting older and one day may too fall to Grandpa's ways :) So, I tease that Isabel will never wear camo. I found this pink camo set that found us on middle ground. It's camo, but it's pink so it works for both of us!

Grandpa bought a rifle BB gun for Lex to shoot. They are shooting at cans. Lex has great aim already. He hit the cans a number of times which I think is pretty good considering the type of gun and his age.

I was taking some campfire pictures and Isabel thought it was hilarious to pop up her hand at the very last second to show this water bottle cap.

I was worried Lex wouldn't have anyone his age to play with since we knew a lot of his "local" cousins weren't going to make it to the reunion. The first day we were there, he made friends quickly. Ryan (Blake's son on the right) was Lex's camping buddy the whole time. It was cute. Lex called him his best friend. They got along really well and didn't really get into too much mischief for a couple of 5 (almost 6) year olds. I hope we can see them again before another year passes!

It rained (DOWNPOURED) every day we camped. It mostly rained at night, but there were a few times we were stuck inside the trailer. I brought crafts for the kids which kept them occupied for awhile. It was better than playing in the mud!

Big Yellow Bus

And there he goes… I can’t even start to tell you the swell of emotion I felt watching him get on that bus and also all the worries that came through my head! How do I know he got to school safely? How do I know he got to his class? How do I know he’ll get home? How do I know someone won’t snatch him while he’s out of my sight?

I couldn't even get him to look at me to wave good-bye he was just so excited to be getting on that bus!

Be safe, Lex! What a journey you have ahead of you!

Just An Example

I just had to share this with everyone before I forgot. It's just an example of some of the funniest things Lex says. I'm trying to teach Lex not to say "um" almost every other word. He said he doesn't know how. So, I suggested he pause to think about what he was about to say before he said it. He then said "Mom, I can't pause. I'm not a movie." It was just so funny. He says things like this everyday. He's just so innocent about it. He doesn't even know why what he just said is funny. It's endearing...

Happy Independence Day!

It was such a fun weekend! My mom flew in from Vegas to visit everyone. We made sure that time was well spent and so tried to do a lot and still have time to relax.

Lex loves sparklers! He was so happy to finally light all the fireworks.

About Me

My photo
Shane and I met my senior year of high school in 1996 and were married in 2000. It's just crazy to think we've known each other for more than a decade and still learn new things about each other. We both graduated from the University of Utah. I have a degree in Finance and Shane has a degree in Biology. We are both enjoying jobs in our respective fields. Our favorite thing to do is travel. Before we started a family, we spent two weeks in Europe touring Italy, Germany, Switzerland, and France. We want to see the world and hopefully take our children along with us when they are older. Our children are our life. Alexander "Lex" is our little man at 7 years old. He loves to try lots of new things. He's currently enrolled in soccer, tumbling & boys' hip hop. Isabel (or Bel as Shane likes to call her) is 3 1/2 years old. She is also enrolled in tumbling & dance. All in all, life is wonderful and we couldn't be happier.
