Locks of Love

The day was going to come eventually. She was ready before I was. We were on our long drive back from the Grand Canyon and she looks at me and says she wants to cut her hair and donate it to another girl who doesn't have any. How can I say no to that?

I will miss this, but it will grow back...

Minimum of 10 inches to donate hair. She definitely had plenty to share.

Who Needs Front Teeth Anyway?

May 09th

If you're going to lose one front tooth, well, the other has to come out at the same time... almost. Or, that would look just silly! So, ten days later, the second came out with a little encouraging.

Annual Ogden Half Marathon

This was the very first half marathon for Shane & I. We've ran the race together the last two years. This was the first year, however, that Shane just wasn't feeling it. He won a spot in the lottery, but we ended up selling it to someone else who wanted to run it. So, this race was bittersweet for me. I PR'd my time, but ran the race for the first time without Shane. It's a special one since it was our first, but we have different fitness goals right now so it's okay.

Weather that day was perfect. No rain this year!

First Solo at Competition

Can we say nerves?? And, I don't mean Isabel's. That would be her parents' hearts you can see nearly popping out of their chests! I don't know how this girl remained so calm. But, she did and it made it easier for us. We kept calm and crossed our fingers she didn't run off that stage from fright... or forget her solo in the middle of her performance! Yikes!

Waiting her turn. She kept asking if she could go on. She was ready!

Her daddy giving her some last minute support.

Waiting for awards. This was different for us this year without The Jazz Studio. We competed as an individual, no studio affiliation since TJS closed their doors last year. So, cheering is quite awkward.  We made Lex sit with her on stage at this comp.

At this competition, our little dancer took first place and also an award for best costume!

 A celebration is in order!

About Me

My photo
Shane and I met my senior year of high school in 1996 and were married in 2000. It's just crazy to think we've known each other for more than a decade and still learn new things about each other. We both graduated from the University of Utah. I have a degree in Finance and Shane has a degree in Biology. We are both enjoying jobs in our respective fields. Our favorite thing to do is travel. Before we started a family, we spent two weeks in Europe touring Italy, Germany, Switzerland, and France. We want to see the world and hopefully take our children along with us when they are older. Our children are our life. Alexander "Lex" is our little man at 7 years old. He loves to try lots of new things. He's currently enrolled in soccer, tumbling & boys' hip hop. Isabel (or Bel as Shane likes to call her) is 3 1/2 years old. She is also enrolled in tumbling & dance. All in all, life is wonderful and we couldn't be happier.
