Camping- Strawberry Reservoir

Fun weekend at Strawberry Reservoir with friends.
Lots of good food...

 games...

Isabel transitioned from her "glider" bike to a two wheeler this weekend and it was so easy! She already had the balance thing down from her glider and she picked up on the pedals in literally minutes. I highly recommend these gliders for little ones to learn on.

workouts! WOD: ride kiddie bike around the camp loop, 30 pushups, 30 air squats, and run the camp loop for time. Go!

This guy manages the campgrounds with his wife. They would drive around throughout the day and offer the kids suckers. Pretty sure Isabel had at least ten of them!

 Abi & Isabel. So dirty!

Had planned to fish, but the only thing anyone caught were these crawdads!

Ray & Shane teaching each other a thing or two about cooking.

Family Picture Favorites

It's hard being patient. I waited anxiously to get my CD from our favorite photographer, Simplicity Photography. I had already waited a year to save up for this big day and I am so very happy with the results. These are my favorites... well, basically it was the entire collection but here's the cream of the crop.

Katy Perry Concert

It seems Shane & I are "concert-goers" this year. First Lady Gaga, today Katy Perry, August Adele, and September Blink 182 with My Chemical Romance. So excited!
This was a great concert. Katy Perry is a great live singer and entertainer. We went to dinner beforehand at Z'Tejas and had a pre-party fest with these yummy appetizers and drinks. I asked Shane to pick me out a drink that he thought would be me and he picked "Millionaire Margarita"! It was actually quite tasty. Shane thought it was too sweet, but I love sweet drinks.

We got a little Katy-crazy before the show. So excited to see her live!

I {heart} my flashing lights cotton candy!

We had AWESOME seats!

Hiking & Camping

We went on an overnight hiking excursion with some friends to Lake Blanche up Big Cottonwood canyon. We prepared by purchasing a tiny two-man tent, miniature blow-up sleeping pads, single-person mummy bags, and food & water. My backpack ended up weighing 40 lbs and Shane's was 44 lbs. Didn't seem too bad until the hike got steep up that mountain! It was hard, but I carried my backpack all the way up and down. I'd like to say it was fun, but it mostly wasn't. The camping part was fun, but the hiking wasn't and that took the longest. About three hours up and just over two hours down. And, I ended up crying on the way down. It was that hard! But, I'm glad to say I did it so that's what really counts.

The scenery was just gorgeous, too!

Legacy Midnight Run- Sisterness

In an hour and ten minutes, we finished as a group the Legacy Midnight 10K. It was the first 10K for Amanda & I so we were pretty proud of ourselves. Melissa was a trooper for staying behind with us. I thought it ended up being easier than I had anticipated. I'm not a runner and don't typically enjoy it, but this was actually fun and I would definitely do it again.

We ordered a bunch of LED stuff like butterfly sunglasses, blinking coil bracelets, and lots of link bracelets to attach to ankles, wrists, necks, and clothing. It was quite a sight to see all of these runners out in the full moon running along the trail. The weather was perfect for this event.

THE FINISH LINE!!

About Me

My photo
Shane and I met my senior year of high school in 1996 and were married in 2000. It's just crazy to think we've known each other for more than a decade and still learn new things about each other. We both graduated from the University of Utah. I have a degree in Finance and Shane has a degree in Biology. We are both enjoying jobs in our respective fields. Our favorite thing to do is travel. Before we started a family, we spent two weeks in Europe touring Italy, Germany, Switzerland, and France. We want to see the world and hopefully take our children along with us when they are older. Our children are our life. Alexander "Lex" is our little man at 7 years old. He loves to try lots of new things. He's currently enrolled in soccer, tumbling & boys' hip hop. Isabel (or Bel as Shane likes to call her) is 3 1/2 years old. She is also enrolled in tumbling & dance. All in all, life is wonderful and we couldn't be happier.
