Easter

A bunny? Why not. We have chickens so might as well. And, again. Too cute. Just couldn't say no. Well, I did a few times, but then gave in. We don't have dogs, so a bunny is pretty maintenance free.

The Easter bunny brought the kids this bunny. We named him Bo in vote 3 out of 4. Shane was the odd man out on this one.

Yep. Pinterest.

Oh gosh. This hair. To die for.

Seriously can't get enough of these siblings.

He's smitten over this bunny. Still trying to figure out how to handle him, but he'll get the hang of it.

This is our friend Dave who has the girl bunny. He convinced Shane that we needed a bunny.

For Easter brunch, we were invited over to the Seljestad's. So yummy. Their whole neighborhood gets together every year for an egg hunt in their cul de sac and then brunch. They are great neighbors. So funny. There was a little bit of everything including mimosas and cupcakes.

This is Jen's cat, Junior. Shane is always trying to eat him!

A Little Scare

As I sit in the lobby waiting to interview at another company... I was given a little scare at work this year. Too soon since my last layoff. Just a little reminder that life is constantly changing. Fortunately, I was one of the lucky few who interviewed well with the new department and was asked to stay on. Always counting my blessings...

Chickens

Does this make us farmers? Shane has always wanted to raise chickens. To have eggs come from our own backyard. I finally gave in. They were too cute to say no.

This was one of the chickens they had outside the country store. They didn't have her in stock, so I'm waiting. I love her "boots"!

Shane just getting an idea of how he's going to build a coop for our new chicks.

I love the barn look of this coop.

Meet the newest members of our family:
Shannon (Shane's- you say it with an Irish accent)
Bridget (Lex's)
And, the white one is Chloe (Isabel's- Shane told her no at first because it's "ugly" but Isabel cried and so she got it. Really, if he tells her to pick one, he can't tell her no. Silly dad.)

How can I tell him no? Just look at that happy face!

He says one day we will have to eat the chickens after they stop laying eggs. I think there's a rule that says if you name your chickens, they are technically pets and you can't eat your pets. We shall have to wait and see.

TJS Spring Review

First performance of 2013 for The Jazz Studio. Isabel is on the Mini Co this year.

This hair-do was a nightmare, but I'm sure it will get easier as I do more of them.

Isabel and her duo partner Kelsey.

Isabel and her cousin Kaylan dance the same hip hop routine this year.

The bouquet of flowers we got for her on performance night. She looks forward to them every performance.

This Thing Called Pinterest

Pinterest. It's where grand craft ideas, perfect outfits, wedding plans, and all things funny are found. It's where five minutes can easily turn into two hours! I've tried things and failed, but a few things that actually turned out. Here's a few:

Christmas gifts for friends & neighbors- glass etched casserole dish, monogrammed scented mason jars, and homemade pretzel bark.

A Nerf board holder for Lex's room.

The little helpers at Lowe's.

A mason jar salt holder. That's the original spout from the cardboard container. So much more pleasing to look at. Thank you Pinterest!

About Me

My photo
Shane and I met my senior year of high school in 1996 and were married in 2000. It's just crazy to think we've known each other for more than a decade and still learn new things about each other. We both graduated from the University of Utah. I have a degree in Finance and Shane has a degree in Biology. We are both enjoying jobs in our respective fields. Our favorite thing to do is travel. Before we started a family, we spent two weeks in Europe touring Italy, Germany, Switzerland, and France. We want to see the world and hopefully take our children along with us when they are older. Our children are our life. Alexander "Lex" is our little man at 7 years old. He loves to try lots of new things. He's currently enrolled in soccer, tumbling & boys' hip hop. Isabel (or Bel as Shane likes to call her) is 3 1/2 years old. She is also enrolled in tumbling & dance. All in all, life is wonderful and we couldn't be happier.
