Soccer Starts, Again!

It's too bad Mother Nature hasn't been too warm these days. Soccer games include winter coats and blankets. The boys at least stay warm by running the field for an hour.

Jazz and The Boys

It was a boys' night out and they were so excited to go together for their first Jazz game! Lex cheered on the team with nachos and a hotdog. He was really looking forward to the "game food"! They both had a good time and hope to do it more often next season. Hopefully the team will play better! They lost this one.

Lady Gaga Concert

I didn't think I was really a true fan of Lady Gaga, but wow! What an amazing concert! We both said we would definitely see her again. She is a great entertainer.

Although balcony seats, we had a great view.

There were a lot of great outfits, but I felt uncomfortable taking pictures of strangers. So, I got this back shot of some people after the concert. People spent a lot of time putting together their ensembles.

Tiny Tots First Place!

The Jazz Studio
1st Competition

What a long afternoon! We started getting ready right after lunch, met team at high school at 2:30pm, practiced routine at 3:30pm, performed at 4:45pm, and awards at 5:40pm. Kinda sounds like a lot for a four year old to take in, but Isabel did awesome. She was cheerful and not one bit grumpy. A quick 20 minute catnap on the way to the competition does the trick, too!

Isabel was so excited to know that her family was going to be there to watch her. I stayed with her the whole time backstage and when she went to the floor, I pointed out where grandma, Lex, and her daddy were sitting. She was one happy girl!

We stayed for the awards ceremony, but this being our very first competition we weren't sure what all the categories meant so didn't know if Isabel's team won for anything. We ended up leaving towards the end and found out the next morning that Tiny Tot's took FIRST PLACE!!! How exciting! Congratulations Isabel & all the tiny tot's! A job very well done!

Soldier Hollow

How have we lived in Utah all our lives and NEVER been to Soldier Hollow before??? What a fun, fun experience. We can't wait to go again next year! The weather was absolutely beautiful and the kids had a smile stuck on their faces all afternoon. It couldn't have been a better day.

Just look at that beautiful BLUE, BLUE sky! Most of us ended up taking off hats, gloves, and coats. And it was still hot!

My kind of tubing! No walking up the hill to slide down again!

At the end of the day, this is what happens to our four year old.

TJS Spring Review

Isabel's dance company gave a spring review to family and friends to see what the competition dancers will be performing this season. It was great to be able to see everyone's performance. Isabel was in great spirits all day and even told us how excited she was to do it again. Her first competition is in about two weeks and we can't wait to see how it goes!

Em & Isabel getting pumped for their performance.

Gotta love the dance expressions!

You can kinda see all the robes & boxing gloves in the "boxing ring" behind her. It's part of their performance prop that they all run in to during their dance. They start with their robes on and then take them off and wave them over their heads. It's funny to watch because the girls are all getting hit in the face with them, but it doesn't phase them at all!

About Me

My photo
Shane and I met my senior year of high school in 1996 and were married in 2000. It's just crazy to think we've known each other for more than a decade and still learn new things about each other. We both graduated from the University of Utah. I have a degree in Finance and Shane has a degree in Biology. We are both enjoying jobs in our respective fields. Our favorite thing to do is travel. Before we started a family, we spent two weeks in Europe touring Italy, Germany, Switzerland, and France. We want to see the world and hopefully take our children along with us when they are older. Our children are our life. Alexander "Lex" is our little man at 7 years old. He loves to try lots of new things. He's currently enrolled in soccer, tumbling & boys' hip hop. Isabel (or Bel as Shane likes to call her) is 3 1/2 years old. She is also enrolled in tumbling & dance. All in all, life is wonderful and we couldn't be happier.
