Jorgensen Family Annual Reunion

I call this my "I Forgot" camping trip. I had given myself a few days to prepare for this trip and in doing so somehow forgot about myself. I'm sure that happens to many mothers out there. List of my "I Forgot" moments:

1. pants/jeans- it gets to almost 30 degrees at night in those Wyoming mountains!
2. pajamas
3. makeup, toothbrush
4. graham crackers & marshmallows... remembered the chocolate bar though which melted in the car!

Thankfully I was able to borrow some pants from some relatives, my mother in law sells avon and had some samples for me, and the local market had most of the rest. So, my weekend was spared and we were able to enjoy some of this...

Gettin' ready to go! Look at that absolutely beautiful blue sky! The weather was perfect the entire weekend.

Kids' Activities
Lex & Isabel participated in a hula hoop contest, ring the soda bottle, potato sack race, three-legged race, and a pinata. The talk for awhile was Lex's quote of "I can't hit SpongeBob!". Well, he did anyway when he found out he was filled with candy!

Lex won 2nd place in the potato sack race!

Lex partnered up with Taylor for the three-legged race. They had a good practice, but didn't make the final round. Good try boys!

I joined Isabel for the three-legged race. If I had known she was just going to yell at me for holding her arm up instead of down (I was trying to keep her from falling on her face), I would have skipped it. We did get a 2nd try, and we did better... still last place, but no yelling. She got one of the hula hoops for good effort.

Grandpa & Grandma bought Lex a youth compound bow for his birthday and since we were in a great location for target practice, they gave him his gift a little early. Grandpa was so proud of Lex! He learned how to shoot those arrows almost instantly and showed great form, too. Grandpa called him his "re-do" and wanted to take him home! One of these summers, I hope that Lex & Isabel will be able to spend some summer vacation days with their grandparents.
Trisha brought some bubbles that Mayla & Isabel enjoyed for awhile. She also made a makeshift swing that both the kids AND the husbands enjoyed!

The pants and jammies may have been a problem, but you are so pretty that you do not need make-up. Looks like a great time. Maybe next year we can make it. It sounds like they are planning more kid activities. Miss you all!

About Me

My photo
Shane and I met my senior year of high school in 1996 and were married in 2000. It's just crazy to think we've known each other for more than a decade and still learn new things about each other. We both graduated from the University of Utah. I have a degree in Finance and Shane has a degree in Biology. We are both enjoying jobs in our respective fields. Our favorite thing to do is travel. Before we started a family, we spent two weeks in Europe touring Italy, Germany, Switzerland, and France. We want to see the world and hopefully take our children along with us when they are older. Our children are our life. Alexander "Lex" is our little man at 7 years old. He loves to try lots of new things. He's currently enrolled in soccer, tumbling & boys' hip hop. Isabel (or Bel as Shane likes to call her) is 3 1/2 years old. She is also enrolled in tumbling & dance. All in all, life is wonderful and we couldn't be happier.
