Thailand

We took almost 400 pictures during our trip to Thailand so I picked out just the highlights of what we saw and did.

View of Phuket, Thailand from the balcony of our room the first morning of our arrival.

Hotel scenery. The landscaping at the hotel was absolutely beautiful.

Elephant trekking in the jungle on our second day. I'm not sure we ended up with the right tour group, but got to do what we had planned on so it worked out. Our elephant guide told us he only gets to visit his family once a year!

FantaSea- Las Vegas/Disney type theme park & show (kinda bizzare).
Maya Bay "The Beach"- absolutely the most beautiful place we visited. We took a ferry from Thailand to the Phi Phi islands which was a 90 minute ride. We felt the heat & humidity the most this day (on our return from Phi Phi to Phuket) to the point of near unbearable, but thankfully the ferry home was boarding early and we could sit in the air conditioned boat instead of having to wander the vendor streets any longer!

HUGE spiders we saw during our countryside bike trek. They were bigger than my hand!

Marianne & Lek (our tour guide). We biked 54 km that day. We had sore bottoms all day, but it was worth it!

Waterfall we saw at the end of the bike tour.

Hilton's spirit house (Thai cultural belief that it keeps bad spirits away from main house.)

Wat Chalong temple

Yummy treats at the Hilton cafe

Sipping pina coladas at one of the hotel's pools. We did this quite a bit!

Karon beach (across the street from our hotel)

Hair

Today's post is about hair. Isabel's hair is just wild and Lex has a fresh, new haircut. Enjoy!

Bad Hair Day

Silence from a toddler is not usually a good thing unless they are sleeping. This is what I found with Isabel's silence. Isabel washing her hair with handsoap in the guest bathroom. At least it wasn't something worse like baby oil!

Brighton & Snowboarding

We finally made it this year! I've been wanting to go skiing/snowboarding for the last two seasons and never made it. Some friends convinced Shane to try snowboarding and so of course I couldn't be the only one in skiis. We all tried snowboarding this time; even Lex. He loved it! After 5+ hours, he was sad we had to leave. We had him take an afternoon lesson and he has already learned so much. Those kids are sponges!!!

Don't let this standing pic deceive you. I was on my rear-end more than I was on my feet! Getting off that lift was the hardest part for me, but eventually I was able to glide away without crashing. Even one of the ski instructors gave me a high five as I went by!

It was an absolutely GORGEOUS day at Brighton. The weather couldn't have been more perfect for us.

I hope to go at least a few more times this season. We'll see.

About Me

My photo
Shane and I met my senior year of high school in 1996 and were married in 2000. It's just crazy to think we've known each other for more than a decade and still learn new things about each other. We both graduated from the University of Utah. I have a degree in Finance and Shane has a degree in Biology. We are both enjoying jobs in our respective fields. Our favorite thing to do is travel. Before we started a family, we spent two weeks in Europe touring Italy, Germany, Switzerland, and France. We want to see the world and hopefully take our children along with us when they are older. Our children are our life. Alexander "Lex" is our little man at 7 years old. He loves to try lots of new things. He's currently enrolled in soccer, tumbling & boys' hip hop. Isabel (or Bel as Shane likes to call her) is 3 1/2 years old. She is also enrolled in tumbling & dance. All in all, life is wonderful and we couldn't be happier.
